World’s Largest Lemon
Located in Lemon Grove, California (just east of San Diego), the Lemon Grove Giant Lemon is a iconic roadside attraction celebrating the town’s agricultural heritage.
Specs: Measures roughly 10 ft long by 6 ft wide, weighs around 3,000 lbs, and is made of plaster, fiberglass, and wire frame over wood.
Origin: Originally constructed in 1928 as a parade float for the Fiesta de San Diego parade by local architect Alberto Treganza.
Legacy: Loved by locals, it was installed permanently near the trolley tracks after the parade to promote the area’s thriving citrus orchards.
